The water mills in the Rud?riei Valley represent a picturesque ethnographic presence and at the same time a living economic reality. Many of them are still in operation, where the locals produce their maize (corn) flour and wheat for home consumption. Currently, in this site, a number of 22 mills are preserved, spread over a length of 3 kilometers along the course of Rud?riei, these being included in the List of Historical Monuments in Romania.
Nera Gorges (22 km), a mountain enclave, are unique in Romania as beauty and grandeur. Between the localities ?opotul Nou and Sasca Montan?, on a section of about 20 km, the Nera river crosses a gorge, with keys, narrow, spectacular and absolutely wild, forming the longest keys in Romania.
