There are places where you arrive for a few days and which, without realizing it, stay with you long after you have left. For us, Satu Muscelean in Cândesti - Câmpulung Muscel was such a place. We spent three days here, in a Muscelean cottage, at the foot of the Fagaras Mountains, and we felt that, for a few moments, time forgot to run. The view is wonderful: the peaks of Iezer, the green forests, the water that can be heard nearby and that clean air that you immediately feel. The cottage offered us everything we needed: impeccable cleanliness, warmth, private bathroom, permanent hot water, and all the necessary things for hygiene. The mini-fridge was also very useful. The only thing we would have appreciated in addition would have been a small table with two chairs inside, for cold days when you want to stay warm and have a snack in the privacy of the cottage. But what stayed with us the most were the people. We were warmly welcomed and we felt a constant availability and attention. At the restaurant, the service was impeccable, and the food… the food took us straight back to our childhood. Real flavors, freshly prepared and with care, some of them reminding us of the food our grandmothers made. And, of course, there were also the characters of the place: Sorinel, the cat with a conquering personality, who knows exactly how to get attention and something from the plate, but also the white and gentle puppies that greeted us in the morning when we went out for coffee. For us, Satu Muscelean was more than just accommodation. There were three days in which we felt fabulous, far from the noise and rush. We came for the first time. We left with the feeling that we had discovered a place we would like to return to. Not because everything is perfect, but because there is something much harder to find here: authenticity, and that rare feeling that, for a few days, life can be simple. We heartily recommend this place to those looking for beauty, tranquility, welcoming people and an experience that doesn't end the moment you hand over the key.
